This is an ongoing series of exhibitions that showcase projects tackling familiar and not-so-familiar problems associated with life in China. The development of each project has been underpinned by thorough research in areas of user experience, technology, materials and processes. As well as this, the designers have informed their projects by talking to real people about problems experienced in their life and work where design could make a difference.
Examples this year are many. There will be functional toys to introduce kids to housework, a recipe and meal experience sharing system, a smart door-mounted parcel box and a proposal for Beijing’s network of redundant phone boxes.
